Abstract
The thesis is focused on creating an algorithm for the design and assessment of a beam of a crane runway according to valid standards. The program is created in a Microsoft Excel. More complicated procedures have been programmed in Visual Basic for Applications. The core of the work is to design an application that helps to calculate the load acting on the crane runway and to design its cross-section. That program carries out an assessment verifying of ultimate limit states as well as serviceability limit states, i.e. the strength of the section, loss of stability of beam, buckling of thin walls, fatigue assessment and verification of limit deflections. There was a made a manual for correct understanding of an application. It explains the individual steps for entering the necessary values in each stage of the calculation. Proper functionality of application is verified by manual calculation with the values reported in the literature for the same task. Thesis is written in a scope of 94 pages and 49 pages of the annexes.
