Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to realize measurement of lower limbs movement of a person using orthotic aid by means of accelerometers. Resulting patient data visualization in MATLAB enables repeated projection of acceleration process without having to keep complete measuring equipment and software at disposal.
There are many possibilities how to scan limbs motion. Using accelerometer is one of many options. The basic measured value is acceleration which is the change in velocity vector over time.
ZSTAR3 set from Freescale company contains USB receiver and sensor board with accelerometer which enables measurement in three axes. Wireless data transfer is done by means of ZigBee standard. This technology eliminates problems with cables and movement limitations.
Displaying the measured values in real time is enabled by software included in ZSTAR3 set. Storing the data gained from measuring extends possibilities for their further processing and evaluation.
