Abstract

This thesis deals with activities of components of the Czech Republic security system related to floods and overflows and their evaluations. In the introductory part of the thesis there is a description floods' origins. Consequently, there is an outline of possibilities of security system components in relation to floods and overflows control which are based on current legislation of the Czech Republic. In the next part of the thesis there is an analysis of major floods in the Czech Republic with the emphasis on their control. Finally, there is an assessment of the floods and overflows control system.
