Filip Khestl, Ph.D This diploma thesis deals with the modification of cement-fiber boards. Modification of the boards consists in the treatment of polypropylene fibers by plasma and then by different conditions at 28 days when the plates aging. The theoretical part deals with the description of boards and the commercially fabric in which the boards are made. There is described raw materials and plasma.. It further describes the treatment of fibers by plasma. The practical part contains a description of own production of boards in the laboratory, their aging and testing. The samples were evaluated by strength tests, modulus of elasticity, water absorption, determination of dimensional change due to moisture, frost resistance, water impermeability and friability. The observation of plasma surface change of the fibers was performed by electron microscopy.During testing, it was found that plasma-treated fibers did not have an effect on the tested properties in general. Different results can be observed for different types of aging. Further, the dependence of the test results on the boards density is also evaluated.
