Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with comparison and analysis of regional disparities between various cohesion regions in the Czech Republic and Austria. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The second chapter explains basic concepts related with regions and regional disparities, there are especially described approach and objectives of the European Union's regional policy. The third chapter deals with the socio-ekonomic characteristics of compared states, there are also outlined concept of regional policies and drawing resources of EU structural funds and Cohesion fund. The fourth chapter is devoted to a brief characterization of the various cohesion regions, but especially to the development and comparison of regional disparities using selected indicators at NUTS II regions of the Czech Republic and Austria.
