Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of special floods and the protection of population. It is thematically divided into four areas. The first part consists of waterworks as such. Their different kinds, categories and technical safety are introduced. The second part is aimed at special floods. It encompasses their categories, the outline of special floods which happened in our country as well as in abroad, and it also deals with the Special Floods Territory Protection Plan. The third part describes the flood control. This is solved in three layers, which are before, meanwhile and after flooding. The way of population warning, its evacuation and the ensurance of emergency survival are described. The final fourth part deals with suggesting the possible improvements of the current state of population protection.
