Abstract

This thesis deals with metallic foams, which are a constantly developed material with potential in several industries such as automotive, construction, medicine, etc. These metallic materials in their structure contain deliberately created pores that give them unique properties such as high stiffness at low density, high thermal conductivity, energy absorption capability. The theoretical part is focused on basic properties of metal foams, on foundry methods of production of this material and its use. In the practical part, he then deals with the design of cast metal foams with irregular structure and a solid surface layer.
