Abstract
Each construction of the reservoir and its operation with them inherently carries some potential risk and possible failure or crash the dam. The result then is the emergence of special flood, which can have disastrous consequences. The course of dam body breach is mainly dependent on its type. The most common disorders of earth embankment dam deformation and tend to spill over the dam. GIS technologies have today in such issues great value and potential. Wide range of available hydrological models and subsequent analysis of the results allow the creation of "smart" floodplain maps, which are the initial materials for effective decision-making and consequent quantification of the flood risks and damage due to extreme situations. In this study were used 1D/2D hydraulic models HEC-RAS and MIKE 11, ArcGIS provided the pre and post processing and particular analyzes were performed in SAGA GIS.
