Abstract

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to get acquainted with the principles of measuring blood pressure and creating a functional replacement for a commercially sold sensor. This bachelor thesis discusses the various methods of measuring invasive and non-invasive blood pressure. History of blood pressure measurement, its values and their significance. The sensor parameters were determined and a sensitivity analysis was performed to select the product. Based on the survey, Transpack IV was selected. It has been adapted to connect to the PowerLab 15T, after that tested. An educational laboratory task was created for the new Transpack IV sensor for comparison with the existing MLT1100 / D sensor in the LabChart area. Compared to the existing MLT1100 / D sensor, the new Transpack IV sensor was identical in parameters, but reacted in sensitivity 0.01s later, with a sharp change in pressure.
