Abstract

Bachelor thesis summarizes the current knowledge about cyanobacteria, algae and their use in industrial processes. The introductory part describes the characteristics of these organisms. In the next part, biotechnological processes and suitable organisms for the production of biofuels are described. The following chapter gives a general overview of the application of cyanobacteria and algae in the chemical, agricultural, food and textile industries. The last chapter deals with the application of extracts from algae and cyanobacteria in the pharmacology sector for the treatment of serious diseases.
