Abstract

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the issue of assessing professional exposure to dust containing heavy metals at a specific workplace using available measuring technology in the broader context of health risk prevention. The theoretical part deals with the analysis of the current state of the problem, information about hygienic limits and their development and the related health risks of persons exposed to dust, nickel and cadmium. More attention is paid to the issue of assessment of professional exposure to dust, oriented to the practical aspects of measuring the concentration of dust in the working atmosphere. In the practical part of the work, the assessed operation and production of nickel-cadmium batteries is characterized, the method of own measurement of dustiness is described, the processing and evaluation of the measured data was carried out and the work was classified into the appropriate category.
