Abstract

The main aim of this thesis is to theoretically describe the options and technology of doping of chromic steels by gas nitrogen and to experimentally testify the option of producing HNS (High Nitrogen Steels) by adding the gas nitrogen. The first part of the thesis concerns the conditions of the solubility of nitrogen in steels and factors which influence this solubility. The principle and the meaning of adding gas nitrogen to steels is described in this thesis. Literature concerning the analysis of experiments, which were already pursued on this theme, is also included. The second, experimental part is focused on option verifications of doping of steels, more precisely on adding the gas nitrogen and a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen under half-traffic conditions. In the conclusion the essential knowledge of analysis of various sources and the outcomes of the options of usage of gas nitrogen in the doping process are summarized.
