Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the study of Grain Oriented Electrical Steels and with correlation microscopy application for characterization of their structure. In this work, the technology of production of transformer steels is described. It also contains an outline of deformation and annealing microtexture components in BCC metals, where attention is also paid to the development of Goss texture as a key parameter affecting GOES properties. The theoretical part also describes the EBSD technique and the principles of correlation microscopy.
The experimental part is focused on the use of correlation microscopy to link macro images and the results of microtexture characterization obtained using the EBSD technique. Using EBSD, the orientation of grains in the main technological directions (RD, ND) and the disorientation of individual grains from the ideal Goss orientation is studied.
