Abstract

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to economicly analyse three selected state-funded institutions – retirement homes, to introduce the subject of social policy and to create a wider framework which will then include the practical context of state-funded institutions. The theoretical part introduces the concept of social services, the legislation that limits it and the ways of financing the social service providers. State-funded institutions in terms of their founder, creation of financial funds and overall financial management will be analysed in the next part of the thesis. In the practical part, based on the described economic and financial indicators, three selected homes for seniors are compared. Based on subsidies, benefits, costs and revenues, and their long-term assets, their economic situation is shown. The result of this bachelor thesis is a comprehensive analysis of the functioning of these organizations and the outline of possible situations, which could endanger or directly disrupt their operation.
