Abstract
MIHALOVÁ, Sára. Statistical evaluation of the Difference in Weight of Frozen and Thawed Products. VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava. Degree: Bachelor (Bc.). Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Josef Tošenovský, CSc. Ostrava. 55 p.
The theme of thesis is the statistical evaluation of the difference in weight of frozen and thawed products. The thesis is focused on the segment of frozen fish fillets and the goal is to assess, if manufacturers deceive customers by adding various menas to increse the weight at the expense of quality and to reduce costs. The measured data was tested for normality, on data was made a parametric hypothesis test about the mean and finally it was made an analysis of simple sorting. Results of testing confirmed the initial conditions about the possible deception of consumers, in terms of right weight of the meat after thawing. Based on the collected data, consumers could, and should, rethink purchases of these products that are cheaper at first glance, but in the final more expensive and lower quality.
