Abstract

The key topic of this bachelor thesis is the development of environmental competences of the inhabitants of the Karviná region as an integral part of protection of the environment in the post-mining landscape. They are the ones who deserve a special approach, as almost two centuries of deep coal mining have left "scars" not only in the landscape, but also in the people themselves. Using environmental competences, it is possible to work for positive changes in the attitude of local people towards the landscape in which they live. The theme reflects the environmental interactions between the environment and its inhabitants. The central points of interaction are the interaction landscape elements. A significant part of the thesis is represented by six specific proposals for using elements of the post-mining landscape of Karviná region to develop environmental competences and their involvement in building inhabitants' relationship to the environment.
