Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of innovation in the media environment. The aim is to determine how media owners can proceed in the field of modern technologies and how to use these technologies in competition. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part describes the innovations and innovation process in general. Including the reasons that companies can lead to innovate, and processes that are critical to the success of the innovation. Another part is about the breakthrough innovations in the media market and their gradual development. There are also described the current innovation activities on the Czech media market. The research focuses on consumer preferences in new technologies in print and online media, and in broadcasting. Based on the obtained data is uttered several recommendations how the innovation in the media should be treated.
