Abstract
The bachelor thesis focuses on evaluating the availability of palliative care providers in two selected regions of the Czech Republic – the Moravian-Silesian Region and the South Moravian Region. The main objective was to map different forms of care provision (inpatient, home-based, and outpatient), their spatial distribution, and time accessibility using spatial analysis tools in QGIS. The analysis was complemented by a comparison of both regions and by SWOT analyses identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the regional care systems, as well as opportunities and threats. The findings revealed uneven territorial coverage and limited service accessibility in peripheral areas. The Moravian-Silesian Region showed a higher number of palliative care beds per 100,000 inhabitants compared to the South Moravian Region. The conclusions of the thesis can serve as a basis for planning and optimizing the development of palliative care services within regional health policy.
