Abstract

This thesis is focused on the heat effects determination of Ferroalloy additives which are commonly used for refinement of the steel. The first theoretical part describes secondary metallurgy which is essential for the field of steel refining. The second theoretical part explains possible processes of the heat effects detection done by calculation and measuring devices (e.g. DSC, DTA) which enable us to recognize the temperature differences. Practical part of the thesis describes the analysing process itself. In order to measure the feroalloy FeMn heat effect, the Setaram MHTC (Multi High Temperature Calorimetr) with 3D DSC sensor has been used. Each of measured additives had different masses. Based on those results the trend for prediction of the heat effects was achieved. In order to calibrate temperatures the nickle of 5N purity was used. Appart from that, certain requisite corrections of temperatures were needed.
