Abstract

The employment of people with disabilities is a major issue in developed society. People with disabilities often face a lack of job opportunities in the labour market. At the same time, these people are often underestimated and underused source of labour. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse and evaluate the position of people with disabilities in the labour market at the local, regional, national and European level and to propose appropriate solutions to improve their employment. The theoretical part of the work, which is focused on the employment of people with disabilities as a disadvantaged groups in the labour market and evaluation of the current state of people with disabilities in the labour market in the Czech Republic is followed by a search of empirical studies of 11 European national employment policies focusing on disabled people persons. The practical part is devoted to the evaluation of the state of the people with disabilities on the labour market in Ostrava with the implemented instruments of the active employment policy. At the end of the work, suggestions and recommendations were made that could contribute to increasing employment and employability of people with disabilities in the labour market.
