Abstract
The aim of the diploma thesis was to compare soil permeability classification systems, which are very important (especially from the possible contamination) for the evaluation of soil massifs that are located in the anthropogenic environment of brownfields. The permeability evaluation criteria were hydraulic conductivity and three permeability classification systems (Standard ČSN 73 6850, Terzaghi and Peck and Pazdro and Kozerski). Hydraulic conductivity was calculated by using 10 empirical formulas according to the following authors: Carman-Kozeny, J. Kozeny, A. Hazen, J. Krüger, W. Beyer, CS Slichter, F. Seelheim, USBSC, USBR, J. Jaky. The calculation was applied to 36 soil samples from all over the Czech Republic, 16 samples were fine-grained soils, 10 sandy and 10 gravelly soils. This means that 360 calculations were performed, which were compared with each other, but an important aspect of the application was the selected boundary conditions under which the calculation can be performed.
