Abstract
The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of treatment with iron sludge in the Ledvice power plant and in the world as waste. In the theoretical part, there are described principles of the formation of water iron sludge, its chemical and physical character, description of technological devices for its separation, thickening and drainage. In the practical part, there are described methods of its potential in detail, including its ecological and economic aspects. The proposed and verified methodology for the use of waste iron sludge allows its possible use as a valuable resource for energy production and at the same time reduces the amount of waste. It can also be implemented in smaller plants.
