Abstract

The thesis is focused on contamination of the environment by organic compounds from non-combustion processes of automotive transport. The aim is to determine possible organic compounds that can be released from the friction composites used for car brake pads during braking. The analysis was done using real or model sample brake pads, also samples of natural materials, soil and dust were taken in sites where vehicles brake heavily. The samples were further characterized by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRFS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), total organic carbon analysis (TOC) and total carbon analysis (TC). All analyzes carried out in this work are recorded and evaluated, including the results of organic substances that are present in samples and brake pads.
