Abstract

Working in the electrical power industry is demanding and often less attractive to young engineers than other electrical engineering disciplines. This bachelor thesis was written as an output of an individual professional practice in Elvac a.s. and captures its course from a technical point of view. It focuses on the description of the main work activities, introduction to the company's products, especially RTUs, and a summary of the newly acquired knowledge and skills. The thesis also includes the design of a demonstration switchboard intended to support teaching in the field of telemetry and control systems in the energy sector. The aim was not only to complement the theoretical knowledge with practical experience, but also to intro-duce this field to students who did not have a concrete idea about it before. The thesis can also be a starting point for further follow-up activities, for example in the form of a master thesis or an extension of laboratory teaching.
