Prostorová lokalizace faktorů konkurenceschopnosti regionů NUTS 2 vybraných zemí EU

Abstract

Competitiveness is a priority for of most economic policy makers and defines economic level of states’ advancement. Regional dimension of competitiveness is the main economic objective in the globalized economy. The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the level of NUTS 2 regions’ competitiveness and the spatial localization of competitiveness factors within selected EU countries. The first chapter of the diploma thesis analyses concept of competitiveness and it´s macroeconomic, microeconomic and regional stage and approaches to measurement. The second chapter generally describes quantitative methods for evaluating regional competitiveness and characterize concretely cluster analysis used for empirical part. The third chapter elaborates cluster analysis and identifies the main competitiveness factors of identified regional clusters.
