Abstract
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to learn about the principle and function of the neutron generator (NG) to determine how the neutron field in the neighbourhood of the NG behaves depending on the geometry of the location of the measuring devices and which of the measuring devices used is the best for this investigation of the neutron flux in the vicinity of the NG. The measuring devices used to investigate the neutron flux in the vicinity of NG include copper foils analysed using a scintillation detector, a pixel detector, OSL dosimeters and Neutrak trace dosimeters. Based on our experiments, we conclude that the angular distribution of neutrons from the NG is anisotropic in the horizontal plane about the length of the NG axis, while the angular distribution in the target plane of the NG is isotropic. The best measuring instruments for the most accurate description of the neutron flux behaviour around the NG are the copper foils analysed using a scintillation detector and Neutrak trace dosimeters.
