Abstract

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to evaluate especially the development of Czech households debt in comparison with selected countries in EU, namely Austria, Germany and Hungary, and further investigation the impact of the economic recession on household debt in individual countries. The work is divided into three main chapters. The entire work will be used methods of analysis and comparison. The data used are from Statistics of the Czech National Bank and Eurostat. The first chapter analyze what influences households in that, if your disposable income, savings or consume, also what causes of households debt, and what loans exists on the market and where households can borrow. The second chapter deals with the development indebtedness of Czech households and selected countries. The third chapter examines the impact of the recession on the indebtedness of Czech households in comparison with selected countries. It has been researched that in the Czech Republic households borrow mainly from the banking institutions, especially mortgage loans. The indebtedness of Czech and Hungarian households is not high. German and Austrian households have higher debt compared to the Hungarian and Czech households, but in Germany the debt continues to decrease. The economic recession had an impact on reducing the high rate of households credit growth in the Czech Republic and Hungary.
