Abstract
The presented thesis deals with the research of abrasives applicable for cutting of hard-to-cut materials with big thickness and high density. Introduction presents current possible applications of the abrasive water jet and future possibilities of further applications connected with development of other technologies. The next chapter deals with description of some abrasives applicable for high strength material cutting. The next chapter presents various methods of cutting of high strength materials and comparison of efficiency of the selected cutting technologies. The fourth chapter deals with the theoretical model of the abrasive water jet. The model represents the basis for the efficiency and quality analysis of cutting. It is important for the further development in the region of the water jet and abrasive water jet technology application and for the improvement of the cutting system performance. The fifth chapter presents some materials for which it is useful or necessary to use the abrasive water jet cutting as it is impossible or at least hard to cut them with other tools. The sixth chapter is devoted to the experimental work and its evaluation. Some important findings and their short evaluation are presented in this chapter.
