Abstract
The main goal of this thesis is to determine explosion parameters, namely explosion pressure, rate of increase of explosion pressure and deflagration index, mixture
of hydrogen gas and air with addition of different volume concentrations of carbon dioxide and depending on the initial temperature. Introduction of the thesis is based
on contemporary studies related to the field. These studies were essential for getting results of explosion parameters from previous years including parameters and types of used experimental sets and measurement conditions. Furthermore, thermodynamic calculations were carried out to predict adiabatic flame temperature and adiabatic explosion pressure depending on temperature and concentration. Experimental equipment, its validation
of compliance with gas standards, and explosion chamber are thoroughly described
in the thesis. Following measurements were made for mixture of hydrogen gas and air with addition of carbon dioxide in different volume concentrations and with temperatures
of 25 °C, 50 °C and 100 °C. Obtained results were processed and evaluated. In total, approximately 40 original records of pressure in time were made, which, beyond the scope of the thesis assignment, allowed to calculate laminar burning velocity of the front
of the flame. Conclusion of the thesis includes an example of real-world application
of the gained knowledge.
