Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of electricity production by a photovoltaic
power plant located on the VŠB-TUO campus and its subsequent computer simulation. Given
the massive development of renewable energy sources, accurate production prediction is
crucial for grid stability and operational economics. The aim of the thesis is to verify the
accuracy of freely available simulation tools (PVGIS and PVWatts) by comparing theoretical
results with real operational data from inverters from the year 2022. The thesis analyzes
selected reference days across seasons and the annual energy balance in detail using statistical
methods (RMSE, MAE). The results demonstrate the high reliability of the PVGIS model
using the SARAH3 satellite database. Furthermore, the thesis reveals and proves that the
observed deviations in the annual balance were not caused by simulation software errors, but
by the incompleteness of the real dataset due to communication dropouts of the monitoring
system. The outputs of the thesis thus serve as a verification of simulation models and also as
a basis for optimizing the monitoring of the university's local distribution system.
