Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of environmental burdens caused by disproportionate human consumption of natural resources and excessive production of waste, which encumber the environment. One of the possibilities to change the human attitude to the environment is the application of cleaner production. In my thesis I incorporated this preventive strategy within the operation of Domov U Jezera in Hlučín, a subsidized organization, whose primary mission is to care for the elderly. In the areas of consumption, I focused mainly on the consumption of energy and detergents, where I evaluated the data from previous years and proposed economy measures, which are characteristic by economic, technical and environmental benefit. The aim of the thesis was to highlight the importance of conceptual and procedural approaches in the use and consumption of scarce natural resources. Reduction of environmental burdens is the only way of sustainable development.
