Analýza dostupnosti městské zeleně v Ostravě

Abstract

This bachelor thesis evaluates spatial justice and temporal accessibility of urban public greenery in the statutory city of Ostrava. Traditional straight-line distance measurements are replaced by advanced network modeling within Geographic Information Systems (GIS), accounting for the actual street network and varying walking speeds of the general adult population and vulnerable groups (seniors, children). The resulting isochrones are aggregated into a hexagonal grid and linked with demographic data using dasymetric mapping. Through the application of spatial autocorrelation and bivariate mapping, the study identifies critical zones characterized by high population density and poor accessibility to greenery. The results demonstrate that while adults enjoy easy access to greenery, vulnerable groups in the city's peripheral areas face significant barriers; these findings serve as an exact evidence base for strategic urban planning.
