Abstract

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to analyze inventory management. The analysis should prove, if the working procedures of a company are optimal or more precisely, if it is possible to suggest and recommend other more appropriate solutions and increase the efficiency of thoughtful and standardized system that is currently being used. In the area of inventory management, we assessed the receipt of goods, the process of storing the goods to the appropriate areas of warehouse, the optimization of the storage space and the process of dispatching goods according to the orders. The data from company’s own information system which manages stock were used for this analysis. The analysis resulted in identifying a weakness in the inventory management. Recommendations based on this finding are ranging from which areas of the logistics process of the inventory management to pay attention to, to specific steps to improve the system.
