Abstract

This thesis deals with the European Union as a customs union. The first chapter describes the brief development of the EU, characterizes various degrees of integration and defines customs and future development of the Customs Union. The second chapter deals with the legislation of the Customs Union, especially the SCS and the Customs Code, but also with the anti-dumping duties, Generalized System of Preferences and Czech law, etc. The last chapter analyzed the economic consequences of duties. There are described types of customs and their theoretical impact on the economy of the state. Statistics relating to the customs in this chapter are also included.
