Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of corrosion properties of galvanized sheet in the area of laser cutting. The theoretical part describes different types of zinc coatings with the regard on their application, structure, properties etc. The basic facts about process of laser cutting are mentioned hier too. Finally, the major part is focused on the corrosion properties and corrosion resistance of zinc coatings especially in the area of laser cutting. The experimental part contains results of the corrosion tests, that were carried out in order to find out the corrosion resistance in the laser cutting area of galvanized sheet, and the result from the metalography of laser cutting area too. Corrosion tests comprise electrochemical corrosion measurements, salt spray test and climate chamber test. The aim of the experiment was to compare corrosion resistance and corrosion properties in the laser cutting area, that were performed in the atmosphere of oxygen and nitrogen and evaluation of galvanic protection of zinc coating to the laser cutting area.
