Abstract

The theme of the Bachelor thesis is profitability analysis of a company in the building industry. The aim of the thesis was assess financial situation using the profitability indicators during the years 2001 – 2008. The theoretical part of thesis is focused on purpose, methods and principles of financial analysis and indicators formula. In the practical part, there are the theoretical knowledge applied to company Metrostav a. s. There is introduced the company and there are calculated profitability indicators and the pyramidal decomposition was applied on the Return on equity. There is used the method of decomposition with residue. The point of indiference is calculated for the period 2004 – 2007.
