Abstract

This thesis focuses on assessing the current system of employee evaluation in the retail banking department of a selected company's Olomouc branch. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current evaluation system, assess its level, and propose possible recommendations and changes that would contribute to its improvement. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical-methodical and practical-verification. The theoretical-methodical part of the thesis deals with theoretical foundations of employee evaluation, including explanations of its significance, objectives, areas and criteria of evaluation, and methodology. The practical-verification part of the thesis contains a description of the selected company and the Olomouc branch, an analysis of the current evaluation system using a questionnaire survey, and proposals and recommendations for its improvement. The result of the thesis is concrete proposals and recommendations that could contribute to the effectiveness and improvement of the current employee evaluation system. The proposals mainly relate to the fairness and satisfaction with the evaluation system, adequate feedback, sufficient preparation for the evaluation interview, timely information on the evaluation interview, knowledge of the content and preparation of the evaluation interview, involvement of education and development and career planning in the evaluation interview, adjustment of the scoring scale of individual domains, proposal for manager evaluation by subordinates, and explanation or introduction of informal evaluation.
