Abstract

This dissertation is aimed at production of nuclear energy and at consideration of enviromental risks and hazards that arise from this production. The first part generally describes the history, the rise and different types of the nuclear energy and decribes as well the nuclear incidents in Cernobyl and in Fukusima. The second part contains descriptions of incidents in mining and oil production and evaluates negative impacts of both nuclear and non-nuclear energy production on the enviroment. The third part focuses on future trends in the production of the nuclear energy, especially on reactors of the IV.generation. Conclusion of my thesis is that there is a large potential in nuclear energy in comparasment with other energy sources.
