Abstract

European Investment Bank and its contribution to new EU Member States, Kateřina Honešová The bachelor thesis is focused on activities of the European Investment Bank (EIB) - on its structure, instruments and forms of assistance. The aim of bachelor thesis is to evaluate the contribution of funding from the EIB for new European Union (EU) Member States. The first chapter is devoted to the general characteristics of EIB, its origin, objectives, instruments and initiatives. In the second chapter, financial and non-financial support programs are defined, as well as cooperation of EIB with other institutions. The third chapter is focused on financial drawing of EIB funds allocated to new EU Member States. Evaluation is carried out mainly in borrowing and benefits of financial drawing of EIB funds for each country, in the reference period 2000 - 2011. The bachelor thesis should help with understanding of the EIB significance for EU regional policy and its contibution to the EU development.
