Abstract

Corrosion protection represents an important position in the marine industry. It is in the interest of this industry to effectively eliminate the corrosion affecting the properties of materials. This phenomenon is limited by corrosion-resistant materials and various protection options. Due to the cost of corrosion-resistant steels and alloys mainly various forms of protection, such as surface treatment, are used in this segment. The aim of this thesis is to introduce possibilities of limiting the corrosion of materials and to evaluate one of the most used methods of corrosion protection. The theoretical part describes the problematics of corrosion, anticorrosive steels and alloys, the environmental impact and introduces the methods of corrosion protection. In the practical part, two coating systems used in this industrial segment are compared by different testing methods.
