Vliv dodatečného vytvrzení (post-curing) přírodních vláknových kompozitů na mechanické vlastnosti.

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the effect of post-curing on the mechanical properties of natural fiber-reinforced composites, specifically flax fiber composites. The theoretical part describes the fundamental characteristics of natural fibers, including their advantages and disadvantages, processing methods. Furthermore, various composite manufacturing technologies and the principles of polymer matrix curing, including post-curing, are discussed. The experimental part focuses on the production of composite plates using the vacuum infusion process, preparation of test specimens, and application of post-curing under defined conditions. The mechanical properties of the material were evaluated using tensile testing and three-point bending tests in accordance with relevant standards. The obtained results were compared between non-post-cured samples and post-cured samples. Based on the experimental results, the influence of post-curing on strength, stiffness, and overall mechanical behavior of the composite was assessed. The thesis provides an evaluation of the benefits of this process for optimizing the properties of natural fiber composites and highlights the limitations associated with the thermal sensitivity of natural fibers.
