Abstract
My Bachelor‘s thesis subject is about different types of optical fibers and their influence on the sensitivity of Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The main theme is to explain the properties of light, which are connected to Interferometry. Next chapters contain information about specific types of interferometers and clarify their functions and meanings of which they are used to.
For a practical demonstration was chosen Mach-Zehnder interferometer, which purpose is to sense sound frequencies. Practical part shows the construction of Mach-Zehnder interferometer prototype and its testing of selected optical fibers. The testing is finalized by evaluation of results of each single measurement and subsequent conclusion of the suitability of optical fibers for sensing vibrations.
