Konkurenceschopnost Slovenské republiky

Abstract

The Graduation Thesis is focused on the Competitiveness of the Slovak Republic. The main objective is to assess the competitive position of the country according to the best-known methods of measuring the competitiveness of the nation state. The sub goal is a description of the tools to achieve higher competitiveness of the country. After the introduction, the second chapter explains the methodology of international institutions dealing with both multi-criteria evaluation of the competitiveness of the nation-state and the evaluation focused specifically, i.e. the selected criteria of competitiveness. The third chapter details the strategic documents of the Slovak Republic to support the country's competitiveness. The fourth chapter analyses the country's position in international comparison in terms of competitiveness. The result of this analysis and evaluation of strategic documents implies that the Slovak Republic, despite the focus on designing and delivering the documents, fails to increase competitive position in international comparison.
