Abstract
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the integration of selected interbank payment systems in the European Union and the Czech Republic.
The diploma thesis called Interbank Payment Systems in the European Union and the Czech Republic focuses on clarifying the issue how interbank payments function. This represents one type of non - cash payments, meaning that the transfer of funds between various banking institutions is realized not only within one country but anywhere beyond its borders. Attention is therefore paid primarily on interbank payment systems. In order to understand better the issue of how these principles function, three selected systems are explained. Specifically, the European systems SEPA, TARGET2 and the only Czech interbank system CERTIS are discussed. At the end of the thesis is refused the hypothesis set out in the introduction by which is expected the full integration of the selected interbank payment systems in the EU/ Euro Area untill 1. 2. 2014.
