Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with assessing the importance of firefighting water supply from water supply systems to built-up areas. The introductory part presents a basic characteristics of built-up areas, water supply system and fire places for drawing water. This part is followed by an analysis of the fire safety of areas and solution deliveries of firefighting water from water supply system for standard situations. Work evaluates the current security area and submits suggestions for improving the situation. The final part assesses the risks to functional distribution and hydrant network during emergency situations.
