Abstract

The thesis is concerning to evaluation of possibility of using of apricot stones (Prunus armeniaca) as a biosorbent for elimination of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solution. The thesis also occupies with particular factors, which have an influence on biosorption process. In the theoretical part I apply myself with the biosorption process, its mechanism, balance and factors which have an influence on this process. In practical part of the thesis there are methods of granular and thermal treatment of biosorbent samples, including its bionization (nebo chemical activation), described. Biosorbent suitability was verified by sorption capacity determination according to pH, temperature, number of revolution (nevím, o jaké otáčky se jedná, tak jsem použila obecné slovo) and sorbent concentration. Samples were analysed by spectrophotometric determination of hexavalent chromium with 1,5 – diphenylcarbazide. For results interpretation there were used mathematic models of Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm.
