Abstract

In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis creep properties of P23 and P91steels are discussed. Furthermore, heterogeneous welded joints are described: welding technology, heat treatment regimes, microstructure evolution and failure mechanisms during long-term exposure. Basic mechanisms of microstructural degradation of welded joints are mentioned. The experimental part of the diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of preferred failure localities during creep tests on cross weld specimens made of P23/P91 heterogeneous welds. Furthermore, hardness changes and microstructural evolution in these welds during creep exposure were investigated.
