Abstract
This thesis deals with the design of a headlight which is produced by using 3D printing. The headlamp is designed for a vehicle manufactured by the faculty while SGS project. In the beginning of the thesis, an introduction to the modern designs and the different technologies used in modern headlamps was made. The next section of the theoretical part deals with the main components of modern headlamps and the different functions that headlamps have. The last point of the theoretical part focused on the production of the headlamp using 3D printing, where the type of printing technology and the material from which the components will be made were then selected. In the practical part of the thesis several designs were created, from which the final headlamp model was derived, with the headlamp housing and bezel being designed. The glass with the illuminated main element was supplied by OPmobility who were involved in collaborating with this work. The work has achieved a functional headlamp design that can be implemented at a relatively low cost.
