Abstract
The presented thesis deals with the underground mining of the brown coal in the final slopes of quarry Libouš, Doly Nástup Tušimice, Severočeské doly a.s. The final slopes in the northeastern part of the quarry still contain about 70 millions tons of high-quality coal. As the method of extraction was chosen non-destructive "road and pillar method", which allows to mine up to 16 millions tons of brown coal in the period 2018 - 2032. With earning up these reserves, 10 millions of the balance reserves will turn into the economic reserves. The main benefit of the planned activity is not only to mine up 26 millions tons of brown coal, but at the same time to prolong lifespan of the quarry and to ensure fuel supply for thermal power plants Tušimice a Prunéřov from its own resources for next three years. The thesis analyzes and quantifies the investment and operating costs of the project and its profitability.
