Abstract

The thesis deals with the development of geographical information system, which is intended for small municipal offices, firms or organisations. The aim of the work is creation of low cost solution, which will use freeware (technical aspect) and staff of municipal offices, firms or organisations (personal aspect). The problems and requirements of municipality in the sphere of geodata and created system were defined. On the base of these requirements the architecture of whole system was developed. Optimal and best cooperative freeware programs for this system have been chosen. Instalation and configuration description of these programs was worked up simply. With help of this description the person with basic knowledge in PC functions is able to repeat the instalation and configuration of these programs. The work contains the script solving the most difficult part of configuration. Methodology for staff of orientation in GIS function principles, effective working with system, editation of labels and attributes was developed. The methodology enables them full administration of created system.
